Keen to add more space to a new home, our clients approached us without much of an idea as to what they wanted, except to add another bedroom to their home. With a fairly small amount of space and with neighbours either side, we suggested that we create a larger bedroom and more compact ensuite with some seamless storage solutions.

Knocking through the rear of the loft, we created as much room as possible in order to ensure that the client didn’t feel like they were cramped. We did have to lose some space to the bathroom, but by placing this to the front of the room, somewhat concealed by the stairwell, the loss is barely noticeable.

The final finish of the project was focused on created a modern look that felt homely. Using the warming finish of wood on the floor and a pared back aubergine paint, as well as dimmable spot lights, we managed to make the space feel cosy without feeling dark or dingy.
